BTicino K4411C smart switch/dimmer – how to associate with a wireless light
I understood the K4411C module should be able to control wireless lights, but I can’t set it up via the app.
I thought K4411C behaved like a wireless switch, where through the app, user could choose the lights associated with it. In the Manage my home section of the control + home app, the only configuration options for the physical switch are to activate the dimmer option, and to have the switch lit with blue indicator light. There’s no option to associate the switch with any lights other than those physically wired to the switch.
Furthermore, Apple HomeKit exposes K4411C not as a switch, but as a light. Even though it’s a smart switch, it’s got the properties of an on/off light module, and no option to configure the buttons. This makes it impossible to associate it with any of the smart lights in the Apple Home app. I tried changing it from a light to a switch but I’m not sure it’s possible. Let me know if there’s a way to set up K4411C so behaves like a “connected switch”, not a light?
Hi again,
The K4411C is a wired switch with neutral, which means that the switch directly controls a load locally via a physical push on the buttons, or remotely via the Home + Control app. What is possible to do is only to link it to one or several other wireless switches to control the same load, but not to link it to any other light bulb

Hi Leslie,
thanks for your reply. It seems I misunderstood how it would behave in the first place.
Do you think there is an alternative product I can use from the Living now range? I am primarily interested in a wall switch that can be configured to wirelessly control any light on the network, through Home + Control or Apple HomeKit. The product should behave like home/away, day/night switches.
Do you think these products fit the description: K4003CW, K4003DCW, or K4003CWI?
Additional question: is it possible to associate additional home/away or day/night switches with one gateway, or can it be just one scenario switch per setup?
Thanks
Yes, you can link in Home + Control app a wireless switch to a Hue light you added. Your switch will then be also available in HomeKit
It will work with the 3 references you sent. In order to be sure about the exact references you need for your installation, I strongly advise you to contact the Legrand/Bticino Customer Support of your country 😉
EDIT : I’ve just seen your additional question … and it’s a good one :D. I never tested it, but I think it could be possible as it should be considered as individual switches by the gateway. You should also ask for a confirmation to the Customer Support

I already met with Legrand/Bticino customer support representative in my country. They are well educated on the product line, the features, installation etc. But I can’t say they’re familiar with the Apple HomeKit integration on such a detailed level.
What are all the Living Now switches that behave like on the screenshots? It’s a question for software developers, particularly the team who works with HomeKit APIs.
Hello,
The first screenshot is the Home/Away wireless switch : https://catalogue.bticino.com/BTI-K4570CW-EN
Button 1 and 2 correspond to Home and Away. You can configure them in HomeKit to manage other HomeKit compatible devices
In the second screenshot (from Home + Control interface) you have the Home/Away + the Wake up/Sleep switch : https://catalogue.bticino.com/BTI-K4574CW-EN
“Additional scenes” correspond to the 4-scenes switch : https://catalogue.bticino.com/BTI-K4575CW-EN

Yes, I am aware these products behave like remote switches in HomeKit, and scenario controls in Home+Control.
I just wanted to get a final confirmation from you that the following items behave the same:
1. https://catalogue.bticino.com/BTI-K4003CWI-EN
2. https://catalogue.bticino.com/BTI-K4003CW-EN
Yes, they will have the same behavior in Home + Control and HomeKit

Hi Leslie,
as per your advice, I have purchased several K4003CW and K4003CWI switches. I just paired the first one (K4003CW) with Home + Control. Unlike home/away and 4 scenario switches (which don’t have any configuration options when opened in “manage my home”), the app prompted me to configure this switch and to connect it with one of the K4411C I have installed. Screenshot is attached.
Now my questions:
1. I don’t see the switch in Apple Home app. The firmware version is 42. Do I need to force update it to make it visible in the Apple Home app?
2. I don’t want this wireless switch to be associated with any K4411C switches, I want it to behave like home/away and 4 scenario switches. Up in the thread you confirmed that will be the case. However they are behaving slightly differently (they have the configuration option I have to connect it with K4411C, and this is not my intention)
IMG_2746 – this is how K4003CW appears in Manage my home section of the Home + Control app
IMG_2745 – this is how my Home/Away switch app appears in Manage my home section
IMG_2747 – this is the scenario section and I cannot see the additional switch I have just installed
Please advise,
Bojan
Hello Bajic,
To answer your questions :
1. I don’t see the switch in Apple Home app. The firmware version is 42. Do I need to force update it to make it visible in the Apple Home app? <= indeed, the NLT are HomeKit compatible only starting from v.54 firmware version (and a gateway at v.250)
2. I don’t want this wireless switch to be associated with any K4411C switches, I want it to behave like home/away and 4 scenario switches. Up in the thread you confirmed that will be the case. However they are behaving slightly differently (they have the configuration option I have to connect it with K4411C, and this is not my intention) <= the possibility to launch scenes with a wireless switch is possible since the firmware v.50 version. If I well understood your need, the update should give you this management possibility
