Device type “Blind” instead of “shutter” in google home

As information:

 • Having type “blind” instead of “shutter” enables the possibility to control within the Google Home app 😉 However you can anyway control it via voice, even with type “shutter”.
 • I requested this feature years ago already! Never got a proper answer from the development team… The only solution seems to go through a third party platform such as OpenHab.

Hello,

I had a feedback from the teams after they discussed this point with Google. Here is their answer :

The problem comes from Google side and they have a ticket opened about it for quite a while. If we change “shutter” to “blind” on our side, we will lose some commands as “open all shutters” which will not work anymore. So it’s not a good solution for us. The best solution is to wait for a fix from Google, but we don’t know when it will arrive

Have a good day,
