K4411C and K4412CM2 – Stop working after connecting to Zigbee network
Hi!
This has happened to me with 2 different modules I originally had a K4412CM2 connected to the Legrand gateway and working properly.
After resetting the connection and moving it to Zigbee the switch has stopped working. The light it always on and it doesn’t matter which button I press it won’t turn off. I know the buttons work because the Led on when off is enabled, so when I press to turn off the led of the switch turns on and so on.
I though this one may have been broken so I ordered a new one a K4411C, the same happened. It was working properly with the Legrand gateway, but as soon as it connected to the zigbee network it stopped turning off the light.
I’ve tried resetting them both (for 20 secs or more) and connecting them back to the Legrand gateway, but they’re still stuck and will always keep the light on. As soon as I power up the grid the light is turned on, i don’t need to press it.
I’m doubting they’re both broken, it seems to be a SW thing. Also the full reset does not seem to fully reset the switch, as the Led when Off functionality is still configured after doing this.
Is there any other way of fully resetting them? Is there something preventing them from working with zigbee?

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Hi Leslie!</p>
Hope you’re doing well. Do you have any updates on your side regarding this? No one has contacted me so far :S
Thanks
Nico
Hi Leslie
Sorry to insist, I haven’t heard anything back from you and no one has contacted me from the client support team yet.
Would you be able to check?
Thanks
Hi Nico,
Don’t be sorry, I thought they already called you back …
I escalated directly your message to the marketing & customer support responsibles for Spain, I hope it will speed things up for you !

Hi Leslie!
Thanks for following up! I finally got contacted and the replacement has arrived, I’ve connected it and seems to be working correctly.
I’ll send the broken one on Tuesday.
Thank you very much for your help
Regards
Nico
Great to hear !
Seems like finally the hypothesis of a hardware failure was the correct one

Hi!
I am a user of the same system (living now) in Spain and I was looking for information to move my whole house to a Zigbee network (local control and better scenarios and automations) but after reading this I am very scared to try it…
A year ago I tried something like this and something similar happened to me, luckily I used the store warranty to replace the device and I didn’t try it again.
Now I have some time and I want to control my whole house with Home Assistant but the feeling is that there is no information if you want to do it without the Legrand API.
Will Legrand allow users to use their products with HA or another home controller that allows us more control and integrations?
I spent a lot of money on my house thinking that this is a serious brand but it seems that the development and support for technologies like Matter or third party integrations is very slow or stopped.
Nico, let me know if you did it successfully.
Thanks to both of you for the information.
Ruben
Hi Ruben
Yes, I was able to set everything up using ZigBee and a ZigBee controller without using the Legrand gateway.
I even manage to make the switches work with the on/off for any button instead of top=off and bottom=on
The trick is using an older version of zigbeetomqtt
I’ll check the version I’m using and send it to you.
Hi Ruben
This is the version of zigbee2mqtt that I got working properly
image: koenkk/zigbee2mqtt:1.34.0
According to this bug https://github.com/Koenkk/zigbee-herdsman-converters/pull/7228 the latest version should be working correctly too, but I haven’t tested it yet.
Hi Leslie,
I have three k4411C units that have stopped working the second I paired to a zigbee network. Exactly the same problem as the original poster discribed. Lights were originally working, dimmable. could turn on and off and dim. Now can no longer power down.
Was it determined for sure that this was a hardware fault or can something be done software wise to fix this?
I live in Australia and these switches have been part of a new house build. Do you mind contacting me so we can work out a fix please.
Much appreciated.
Matt
Hello Matt,
I didn’t have any feedback from the teams in charge of the analysis of failures on products, so I guess it was indeed a mechanical problem. And as said Nicolas, changing the devices seems to have resolved the problem
Excluding your 2 usecases, we didn’t have any other feedback concerning a similar issue
Unfortunately, we can’t do much on your side on the software part. I advise you to contact directly the Australian Customer support to change your products if they are still under warranty : https://www.legrand.com.au/node/108
Have a good day,
