LED Indicator light on smart light switch not active when in Zigbee mode

Hi,

I have a Legrand Excel Life Smart switch (1 gang smart light switch) which I paired to a local Zigbee network by following the instructions here – https://developer.legrand.com/local-interoperability/#How%20it%20works

This is just a test bed to confirm I can integrate LeGrand switches into Home Assistant before I have them installed in my house. So far it has integrated just fine, I can control the switch state from the physical switch or from Home Assistant, except for the indicator light on the switch.

As you can see in the photo, even though the light is on, the status indicator LED on the switch itself is off.

Is this expected when running in Zigbee mode (i.e no LeGrand gateway), or should it be working? Is there anything I can do to get the indicator light working?

Thanks

Hello McGlynn,

You need to use a special attribute :

It is not recommended for third party gateways to rely extensively on this cluster. its API is not well-thought for reusability.

Cluster ID is 0xfc01

Attributes

Locator / visible mode

Light devices (NLL, NLF…)

Locator mode is to help the user to physically find the switch in the dark with blue led.

Visible mode to inform the user of the status of the light on the switch with blue led.

Light: ON

Light: OFF

Locator (0x0001)

Led blue: OFF

Led blue: ON

Visible (0x0002)

Led blue: ON

Led blue: OFF

Hoping it answers your question,

Have a good day,

So do I need to set it from my zigbee gateway every time the light state changes, or can I put it in a mode where the switch itself keeps the indicator in sync with the light state?

Thanks

Thank you, I managed to set the attribute and now the switch synchronises the blue indicator light with the state of the switch 👍
