Legrand Home + Control app and Philips Hue lights

After installing the Legrand gateway, the Home + Control app was able to instantly recognize and associate 3 Philips Hue smart lights I had running. Everything worked as expected and I was able to control the lights via Home + Control and Apple’s Home app.

Later on I purchased over 10 additional Hue lights and the Hue bridge. I installed and paired them through the official Philips Hue app. I was able to see and control the new lights via the Hue app and the Apple Home app, but I encountered two problems:
1. The official Hue app couldn’t control those three previously connected to Legrand gateway. The app was able was able to identify them somehow, and they were visible within the Hue app, but they were “unreachable”. Meaning there’s no way of controlling them.
2. The Home + Control app didn’t automatically identify any of the new lights, indicating I might be unable to use them with the BTicino Living Now smart light switches and dimmers. (I haven’t tried running the Add a product sequence though)

After performing a hardware reset on the initial 3 Hue bulbs (supposedly disassociating them from the Legrand Gateway), the Hue app was able to recognize them. Now they’re all paired with the Hue bridge and they’re all visible in the Hue app and Apple Home app.

This makes me concerned that there’s no interoperability between Legrand and Philips Hue apps, meaning I can have them running on either Home+Control & Apple Home configuration or Philips Hue & Apple Home configuration. Can you please confirm whether this is correct. Thanks.

For adding Philips hue, this is what my “add new product” screen looks like. What firmware version are you on?

Hi Brad.  Thanks for engaging.  Hoping I can get mine to look like that.  My version of Home + Control is 2.17.2 (151), updated 5 days ago.  The MyHOmeServer1 Firmware version is 2.71.10

Oh I see. I have the Legrand with Netatmo Zigbee gateway.

Im not very familiar with MyHome because we don’t have that in North America. I know there was a MyHome integration but I feel pretty certain it required a hue bridge. If you don’t have a Zigbee gateway you can’t add Zigbee products.

there is a thread somewhere in this forum about it. I want to say it was mentioned you need the Classe 300 video doorbell in your system to act as a Zigbee gateway. I can’t remember exactly.

Thanks Brad.  Maybe the Hue integration is no longer available if you have the MyHomeServer hardware.

Lesley, can you give any guidance, incl whether my firmware is up to date?  I can’t see how to download firmware from the Bticino resources.  I rebooted my MyHomeServer1 (which previously has forced a firmware upgrade) and Home + Project still shows the same firmware version.

Cheers

I can tell you that for me at least, I have no integration within Home + Control to my Philips Hue bridge.

I have some hue lamps connected directly to the Netamto gateway so that I could pair them with wireless dimmers. And I have others that are connected to a Hue bridge, and that system does not integrate with Home + Control.

I just did a quick search on the forum of MyHome + Philips Hue, and all of the topics I found are other users saying their Hue bridge integrations no longer work with Home + Control app. It is supposed to apparently, but as of now the latest information I found says that the integration is broken.

Actually, no need Leslie.  I think I found the solution.  For those using MyHomeServer1 you can add a Phillips Hue Light (and Lifx) through Home + Project app.  Go to the room where you want to locate the light, and you can add new products to the room by pressing the blue “+” symbol at the bottom right and then there is a choice of appliances.  Select “Colored Light” and it gives you the option to add a Phillips Hue Light.  I haven’t actually tried it because all of my lights were added under the old My_Home app and they still work fine, so I have nothing to experiment with.

Hi all,

I’ve tried via the the Home + Project app, and it did work… however when going back to the Home + Control, the sync is broken, it shows (faintly) an http 404 error , and it’s not possible to control anything. I had to remove it again on the H+P.

It seems that for some reason the H+C app is breaking when there are Hue bridges configured on the MyHomeServer1.

(FYI I did this on iOS).

Hi all,

I own 5 Philips hue lamps in the same room. Of course myhomeserver1 and apps are working well but I’m struggling with setting a specific white colour to all lamps. When I try to setup a scenario (e.g. switch on all my hue lamps when I switch on the main light) it’s just impossible to set the right white colour to all lamps… RGB code on the screen would help instead of sliders… Any advices? Thanks a lot

Hello,

Can you confirm the app is Home + Project ? If yes, I’ll ask the question to our internal support

Hi Marc,

If I remember correctly, you can “save” current light setting in Home + Control app (haven’t used Home + Project). For my case I used the Philips Hue app via Bluetooth to set a scene, and “saved” in Home+Control to set my Home scene. If your lightbulbs are Bluetooth, you can maybe try to set the light with Hue app?

Cheers,

Fred

Hi Fred,

Thanks a lot for taking time to answer my topic. I do not want to set my light manually with any app. I want my lamps to switch on/off to a specific while colour when one of my bticino the dimmer is switched on/off. A scenario with a trigger is doing the job well except for setting a precise colour. With the former myhome_up it was clearly better solved. Just trying to reach the same with those new apps. With the Home+Control app you cannot set such scenarios with a trigger (as far as I know)

Hello marcdevinci,

An improvement ticket is now opened to improve this RGB slider. As it needs several steps (marketing validation, UX, design, …) I don’t know when it will be displayed in Production
