ON OFF information on SWITCH 067773

Hy

To date with current firmware, only toggle information is available on these switches.

Is it possible to also access the ON and OFF information when the switch is activated?

Thank you for your response

Hi Stuart,

067773 is a NLT. The latest firmware version is 78 and can be downloaded here : https://developer.legrand.com/production-firmware-download/

Hi Leslie,

Thank you so much for supplying this one.

Knowing it’s possibly the same thing, but in Home Assistant it’s reporting as the 067773 unit, but the model number on the switch is the K4003CWI (bticino branded), will this be the same unit inside, just different looking hardware on the outside?

If so, is there documentation to upload to the latest firmware? I’m hoping this might fix up the issues i’m having with Home Assistant on the Zigbee2MQTT addon where the button press is about a 50/50 possibility if it works/is picked up or not. Have tried all sorts of work arounds and purchased the Legrand Hub hoping i could use this (through the netatmo addin) to get the zigbee information from the switches to make them more reliable and work all the time. But seems through the Home and Control app you can only see the hard wired devices and use those, the “remotes” don’t get included with the addon in HA

Sorry for the big post, i’ve checked through what i can on the forum and can’t find anything else i can try. I love the look and feel/click of these, but need them to work everytime they are pressed 🙂

Cheers

Stuart

Hi Leslie,

Sorry to reply back again, i’ve checked some older posts here in the forum and have a few things i can try with HA, Z2M and ZHA to see the different responses from the switches and what they do when talking with different products.

I will try the update process with the Legrand Hub (pressing the button 10x for 10 seconds, from what i read is the way to do it) and see if i get any difference in resposiveness and if i can get the on/off commands back out of the switches.

Thanks again for the replies.

Cheers

Stuart

It would be so simple to have the 3 pieces of information…

Hello Stuart,

“the model number on the switch is the K4003CWI (bticino branded), will this be the same unit inside, just different looking hardware on the outside?” <= Yes, only the design is different

“If so, is there documentation to upload to the latest firmware?” <= we don’t provide such documentation as it can differ according to the ZigBee hub you are using and your upload software

“But seems through the Home and Control app you can only see the hard wired devices and use those” <= the “intelligence” is set in the wired switches. Wireless ones act as ZigBee repeaters. So, in the main menu you only see the wired devices. In Parameters > Manage my home you can see the wireless devices and associate them to one or several wired ones

For the update process, the 10 pushes is not really effective. The best is to regularly manually click on the switch during the day, so that it will launch the order for the firmware update is the gateway is not busy

@Jean-Marc, thanks for the answer. Indeed, the ON/OFF mode is not manageable. Only toggle mode is possible

Hi Leslie,

Sorry to dig this one up again, but there does seem to be a way to put the switches purposefully into a “Zigbee 3.0” mode, which seems to give back the off/on options (pushing the top button on the switch to get the command “off” and the bottom switch to get the command “on”).

Also, with this state of the switch, it is insanely quick, as in, it feels like the lights have turned on before i’ve even pressed it (i know not really, but compared to the standard setup of the switch, it’s a game changer).

The issue i’m having at the moment, is there doesn’t seem to be a 100% correct way to get these switches into this mode. I currently have 10 of the 22 switches in the house setup this way and they have been perfect since they changed modes.

After reading every bit of documentation that i can find, this happens when the switch flashes in a purple or blue state, rather than flashing green. The problem is there doesn’t seem to be any consistant way to get it to flash blue/purple compared to the standard green.

When holding down the gear/ez button for 3 seconds, it flashes blue 3 times, but this doesn’t initiate the pairing process with the zigbee hub.

I ended up purchasing the Legrand Gateway to allow the firmware updates and i’ve narrowed it down to very special circumstances that it “might” change modes.

When the switch is connected to the Legrand Gateway and is showing in the Home and Control app, and once updated to version 77 (latest it’s allowing). When i hit the 2 buttons on the switch randomly (i’ve not found the correct combination) without pressing the EZ button. The switch will flash blue 3 times showing the Zigbee 3.0 mode has been activated. I then only have a few seconds to remove the switch from the Legrand Gateway and initiate pairing with the Home Assistant stick i’m using. Once this is done quicly enough, the switch will flash blue and purple indicating that the Zigbee 3.0 pairing has completed, which is where i then get perfect reliability and the on/off commands from the switch.

Other than the images showing the button pushes allowing this to happen, is there a special sequence of button presses/battery takeout/putback with holding buttons or any other ways to get this to trigger?

Sorry for the completely massive post, but i’ve been spending weeks just getting the first 10 working this way but the final 10ish are not playing ball and i seem to have hit a roadblock with them not working the way i want them to.

Any help here would be hugely appreciated!

P.S. I’m not sure what the taptap thing means, seems to work on the powered/connected devices but not the wireless devices.

Cheers

Stuart

Very sorry to add to this, but forgot to add this one to it, Found this on the documentation site as well showing how to get the magenta/purple light, but this doesn’t seem to work either.

Hi Stuart,

I’m in a similar situation as you, owning several 06 77 23 wireless switches.

When I push both on & off buttons for a very long time (> 20s) I do get the Magenta/Blue flashing 3 times (FW 77). However when following your further instructions, I was not able to get it to switch to On/Off in Z2m, always Toggle mode. How do you initiate the pairing to HA? Do you Push the EZ button after seeing the blue flashes & removing the switch from the Legrand Gateway?

For reference of the other switches and Firmware versions (Hex – Decimal – button logic)

0046 – 70 – Toggle
004b – 75 – On/Off
004d – 77 – On/Off
002a – 42 – On/Off
004d – 77 – Toggle

The last 2 ones were bought at the same time & supplier. However the latest one had FW 63 installed initially. Was not able to change it to On/Off as described above. However I can confirm it is possible to change the behavior, as the third one was initially in Toggle Mode…

I’m also trying to downgrade the Firmware via Z2m, but no success so far (“xyz did not respond to OTA request”).

Best,

Wouter

Hey Wouter,

I didn’t know about the 20 second hold down but from the little testing i tried, it didn’t seem to kick it into the right mode. It’s a very slow blue light flash where the one i’ve been able to randomly trigger is more a 1 flash per second for 3 flashes. Also noticed the orange flash before this at 10 seconds holding both down, but not sure what mode this can be used for with HA/Z2m.

To get the pairing happening after you remove it from the gateway (removing it from the app i mean), i’ve been just pressing a single button on that switch which talks with the gateway, which when it’s been removed from the Control app, it will initiate it’s own pairing/discovery of a new zigbee network. This is when the “Permit all” thing in Z2m is turned on so it can find and connect to the new network.

The biggest issue with it all is that none of it is for certain. I feel like i’ve been incredibly lucky or maybe have even found a bug in the firmware allowing this behavior. Which is annoying there isn’t a simple toggle in the Control app saying “Toggle or on/off behavior” when you could hit the button, set the switch to the mode you want and everyone would be happy.

The firmware upgrade/downgrade in Z2m broke my network when i tried it once before and it’s never worked since. That’s why i needed to buy the legrand gateway to allow the firmware upgrades, and even this isn’t a 100% guaranteed. I’ve got a switch connected to it for 3 weeks still without changing from 46.

Also, with this on/off ability, i found out yesterday that when you hold the EZ button for the 10+ seconds to factory reset it, the toggle returns. So it’s a VERY Unicorn type scenario we have to get ourselves into to get them to work the way we want.

The only way i think is even close to getting this somewhat repeatable is to connect the switch to the gateway, let it do it’s upgrades (if it’s not already) then hit both buttons 3x in a row together, then pressing one of the buttons 1-2-3 times. Either each of them or both of them one after the other… again, it’s SUPER random how it’s managed to do it this way, but once it’s in this mode, the switches are incredibly reliable (from my own testing and statistic of 1 person).

Hope this helps somewhat. Unfortunately this is a dev restriction locking us out from doing what we want with it, the ability is 100% there, but it’s their decision not to allow us to do it. Which is quite annoying tbh..

Cheers

Hey Stuart,

I noted when you keep pushing both buttons, first you’ll get the orange LED after 10s and then after another 10s the blue/magenta one 3x (each second as you describe). I tried to then pair the switch to z2m successfully, but only in toggle mode…

After a couple more tries I gave up and decided to send the switch back as the toggle mode is not useful for me. What’s interesting is that Apples HomeKit will know which button was pushed (you can set up automations based on a specific button), when the switch is connected to the Legrand Gateway. Only downside here is that it’s rather slow (2-3s until the click gets send to Apple Home)…

What I will probably do is buy a 067646 (wireless shutter switch), as it will have the desired differentiation between both buttons according to the z2m website (up, down etc.) – the night/day or home/away button should prob. also work. You can change the plastic cover with a blanc one without any prints on it, so that it will not look any different than the light switch.

Hope you’re more successful… :)
