Wireless Double Switch problem after firmware 36 update

Hi,

At my home I have the Biticino Living Now series with a combination of wired and wireless switches. One week ago one of the wireless double switches stop responding. After checking the Control app I saw that there was a new firmware installed in all wireless switches (36 for the double switches and 63 for the single) with the auto-off option.

Everything works fine except one double switch where I am missing the configuration menu as per the attached screenshot.

My local dealer told me that something went wrong during the update. I’ve searched the forum and I’ve seen that one of the most frequent requests is an option for a manual firmware update.

So my question here is what should I do now. I understand that the 10 times push for a force update is not working.

Any solutions?

Thank you in advance

Hello:

I had the same problem last Friday, I have a Valena Next system, a double switch and a simple switch stops working and disappeared in the home control App.

I made a  hard reset in both switches and at the moment they are still working.

Hi Sotiris,

Did you try to make a reset directly on your switch as Miguel suggested ? Indeed, the behavior in Home + Control from your screenshot seems strange

If it still doesn’t manage to make it work correctly, best is to contact the Customer Support of your country

Hi Leslie. Yes I did. I tried everything but nothing works. I spoke with Customer Support in Greece as well. Was the first thing I did. They logged in in my Home but they said there is nothing they can do. They only told me to wait until the system will update sometime by itself and fix the error but I don’t find this a satisfactory reply when I have pay a bunch of money to install this system instead of a traditional one.

I will take the opportunity for one more time to raise the request for firmware update triggered from the user.

Hi again,

Indeed in your Home I see this switch as well reachable and configured but not controlling any devices. NLD-36 is already the latest firmware version in Production, a v.37 is planned but I doubt it will fix your problem

For the reset : did you remove the battery, put it back, and finally did a 20 seconds push on reset button ? If it still doesn’t work, I advise you to ask for a product replacement

There is no known similar issue in the fix backlog

Thanks Leslie. Yes I did all above steps. Replacing the battery was the 1st thing I did as I initially though the battery was dead. I am afraid I have no other alternatives than to contact my dealer and ask for replacement.

Hello

I have a problem with a wireless two-button switch. It stopped working and I decided that the battery was dead. After removing the cover to replace the battery, I saw that the diodes were flickering, not blinking, but flickering blue. Replacing the battery and trying to reset the switch did not help. Holding the reset button for 20 seconds also did not help. What does this flickering mean and how can I restore the device’s functionality.

Hello Dmitrii,

If it’s flickering, it looks like a mechanical problem to me. If after a full reset of the device you are still unable to re-link it to your gateway, you must contact directly your local customer support

Hello Leslie,

What could be the reason for this?

I have two of these switches and both started behaving like this within 10 days. And it were not subjected to mechanical impacts

Hi again,

Indeed it’s strange if it concerns several devices

For me a blue blinking means the following :

Variation

Trigger Actions

Signification (State / Type of Network)

Infinite Blinking (during the binding process)

Taptap on the product (Initiation Binding)

Start the binding process.

Press on “RESET” button for at least 3 sec (Initiation Binding)

Zigbee 3.0 binding

You could try to set your gateway in binding mode + try the 3 seconds push, but if a full reset didn’t work and that the LED have a strange behavior, I’m not sure it will be the solution

Once more, the best is to contact your support as they’ll be able to investigate on the case

Have a good day,

Unfortunately, I have already done all this, and it did not help at all.

It is important that the LED does not blink, it flickers.
