Bticino Smarther

Hi,
can I use Legrand API for retrieve data from a Bticino X8000?
I tried the “GET Plants” but I always get an error 401 Unauthorized.
Thanks in advance

Hello Davide,

Yes you can retrieve data from your Smarther with the API. You must have subscribed the Starter Kit first.

You must be logged in with your Works with Legrand account to get your Ocp-Apim-Subscription-Key automatically filled when you are in the “Try it” of “GET Plants”
Then in ELIOT – Azure AD B2C – OpenID Connect choose Authorization code. A popup will appear asking you to enter your credentials.
Be sure you are logging in with the good account, otherwise you will receive a 401 error.

Hoping it will help you,

Have a good day,

Hi Leslie,
thanks for your response.
I have done all the steps (register, subscribe the starter kit, log-in, fill the authorization code).
What do you mean when you say “Be sure you are logging in with the good account”?
I have made a fresh new account for Legrand developer portal.
How can I connect this account with the physical device?
Thanks

Did you download the Thermostat app ?
Your end-user account on this application is also a developer account.
If you can access your Smarther through the Thermstat app, you should be able to use the same account on Works with Legrand to use the API.

I have download and registered an account on the Thermostat app.
After that I have registered a new user with the same email on Legrand portal.
So now I have two different account with the same email but different password:
– one for the app (Bticino Thermostat)
– on for the developer portal
How can I merge this two accounts?

Thanks

Maybe you can try to set the same password on your application and on your Works with Legrand account.
Tell me if it worked 😉

Applying same password to each account doesn’t work: I receive the same error unauthorized.
Is there anything else I can try to do?

Thanks

OK I found the answer :

In your Thermostat app, you have to go in “Account” and then “Third-party access”.
From there, you can associate your device with your Works with Legrand account.

This time it should work 😉

It works.
Thank you for your support.
