MHS1 and new app Home+Control

Some days ago my HMS1 has lost its fixed ip address during night, falling to dhcp address so it was no more reachable from Openhab portal that integrates Bticino bus with other devices in my home. I tried to reset it with MyHomeUP with installer code app but I could not reset the old fixed ip, it always restarted with dhcp address. So, reading somewhere in internet I found that the the old app MyHomeUp was no more updated. They suggested to move to the new app Home+Control. I did this and the new app can reach the server, but now I have lost completely the old app (it says that mhs1 is no more reachable) and the new app does not allow the installer access but only the normal user access. So I do not know how to manage my MHS1 and neither i cannot rollback to previous configuration. My old scenarios are still active but I cannot disable or edit or delete them because they belong to installer. The app says to call the installer … but I have installed it myself!

Please help me!

Hi, same here. My mhs1 did an firmware update, then it was not reachable via myhomesuite. So changed app to home and control and now its a total mess. Have about 60 scenarios, which i cannot delete or update. All programmed time tables are gone and newly set up time tables do not work. App is pretty much useless at the actual state.

Hi there, I also upgrade to the new (“better”) Home Control app but lost a lot of features! I will open another forum thread with these “upgrade” issues.

Hello everybody,

Fulvio & Johannes, here is what I said in an other topic about this :

Indeed a new application Home + Project will allow to do configurations for MHS1. As it’s a migration to Netatmo’s infrastructure and doesn’t deal with Eliot API, I’m not directly involved in the project. But I well know my colleagues in charge of this project so I’m able to reach them directly

To be confirmed, but I think that using this app will fix your problems to manage your scenarios. Don’t hesitate to provide feedbacks 😉

I forwarded your messages to them, I’ll warn you as soon as I have more information to give you

I highly advice against upgrading the firmware and using Home + Project (yet). I destroyed half of my configuration by doing so.

It looks like the synchronisation between myhomeserver, Home + Project and Home + Control is not working probably, especially:
– Home + Control always importing the same empty rooms over and over when any configuration is made in Home + Project
– Various Home + Project rooms got lost (either after first import, or when making modifications), including the configured devices in that room. This rooms are still in Home + Control, but no advanced scenarios can be made in Home + Project
– Various empty rooms cannot be delete because Home + Control says there is a (non visible) device in the room. The non-visible device also cannot be used
– Added rooms with devices in Home + Project suddenly disappear, including device configuration
– Configuring such devices again is troublesome because Home + Project says its configured already, you have to reset the configuration on the actor, switch, etc. and make it ground ground up again
– Editing scenes suddenly failes, you have to remove the entire scene and make it from scratch
– Sometimes, actions like Light Off revert to Light On after saving (permanently)
etc, etc….

Interesting feedback! … I’m now worried about using Home+Project app… Did you report all these issues to Bticiono/Legrand already?

As the Help/Feedback functionality in Home + Project is broken too, we sent this information to our installateurs

I managed to solve problems.

my solution: hard reset on myhomeserver1. Completely new configuration of my smarthome with home + project. Then i opened myhomesuite and imported the configuration of myhomeserver1. Then i was a able to make a list of all adresses, a and pl. then i could also adapt myhomescreen10. Via myhomesuit i could also configure some components that were not properly working, like my pir-sensor for outdoor lighting. Hope that helps.

I fear hard reset is for now the only option until Legrand gets this (and many other issues fixed). With 150 components installed this is going to be a huge task, additionally, after a hard reset, one has to reset every actor/switch/etc. to be able to assign them again in Home + Project (else the app complains about the device already being configured and/or has addresses set, so you wont be able to use in Home + Project until you reset it)

I also have troubles with PIR sensors and a few dimmer actors, not even speaking about the not supported anymore 2 wire audio system (no way to control them in any way with Home + Project / Control)

(I for now ordered a second myhomeserver1 and will work on this new device in parallel)

Never experienced such a bad software update in the last 20 years…

P.s.: Meanwhile I analyzed all network traffic from/to netatmo servers and the apps, and it indeed looks like the myhomeserver1 is not correctly syncing with the servers, the incoming/outgoing data from Home + Control looks fine

Same here. Finally installed home+ project and tried to completely reset all, but Home+ control does not align with Project and maintains its devices! All is freezed now, and I had to reconfig the whole house from Suite!
Looks impossible to syncronize via cloud the project ant the control apps…
I cannot start from scratch. I ried to redefine only the thermo zones from Project but it does not sfinish the configuration at all.
It’s a terrible mess!

Are you experiencing disconnections/reboot of the Myhomesrever1 every 2-5 minutes?
It’s a disaster after updating the  firmware to 2.60.38

I quote from @robertsze:

I am experiencing exactly the  same issues. I went back to the configuration done with suite now and everything is working. But I cannot delete the (wrong) house in H+C nor any of the devices. Nor I can modify any  configured device in H+P (or H+C). And scenarios are lost. And Hue lamps too, since suite does not see neither scenes nor hue.

What should I do next?

I suggest to ask a quick rollback to previous MyHomeUp app. Such an instable release should be optional and carefully tested.  MyHome is not an open source project. BTicino should not impose to users an alpha release testing without possibility to rollback or to maintain both versions usable for production and testing.

Exactly, never seen a such bad forced update for anything in the last 20 years, broken with so many issues that its impossible to believe this was tested outside the labor at all, almost two weeks now with a broken and unusable house, and Im not going to reset the entire installation and setup 150 devices and 50 scenes from scratch, not even speaking about the discontinued and now broken 2 wire sound system…

I think one important thing that we need to understand is the the H+C was made for the home users, and the H+P was designed for installers which have many sites to manage. I agree that the integration between both is not well yet, but I think the most important part was  not mentioned, according to my experience using the H+P can work properly only HOURS after H+C was installed and migrated successfully.

  • If you added a  Sonos device – it will fail
  • If you have more than 1 application hub (for example: MHS1 and Classe 300EOS) it will create 2 homes, currently I wasn’t able to put them under the same home.
